Introduction Master Puppeteer Rosalie Perryman

Rosalie took her love of sewing and her love of entertaining children and has made a successful business of the two for the past 30 years. She began making puppets for friends and family in 1972. Although she thought her shy personality would prevent her from performing in public, she soon realized that the puppet stage, and eventually marionette performances, was a great avenue to entertain as well as provide educational and/or spiritual material in a positive, fun, and childlike atmosphere.

Rosalie produces and performs all of her original productions. She designs and creates marionettes and full-figured/hand puppets, writes scripts, and teaches puppet workshops at the local, regional, and national level. Her first puppet in the business was a floppy-eared dog, named Rusty. He still rest in a puppet box on a shelf in her office, and he still gives her inspiration. She sold her puppetry production business to a Florida firm in 1990 and refocused on performing, teaching, and custom work.

Dalton handles booking and show set-up/sound, as well as some puppetry. Rosalie and Dalton are a great team (married for 45 years) relying on the strengths of each other to succeed. Rosalie and Dalton lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for 23 years. The last 5 years they routinely performed four shows a day at schools, day care centers, churches and private and corporate parties, special events, fairs/festivals, etc.

In 1996 they decided to return to their childhood hometown of Marshfield, Missouri, for a change of pace and back to their roots-- a more rural America. Timing was just right to purchase a 14,000 square foot three-story former church built in the 1930’s. With vision and determination they converted the building into what is now known as the Jubilee Puppet Theater. The Theater includes a 250 seat auditorium, puppetry store, workshop, meeting rooms, dining area with full kitchen, and office space.

When not on the road touring in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, they are busy with area public and private school groups at the Theater and performing at libraries, day cares, churches and special events. The Theater is a favorite with area elementary schools looking for interactive, hands-on field trips. Be sure to check out the Field Trip page for more detail.

You are encouraged to check out the available shows, field trips, workshops, and photos. Give us a call to discuss puppetry or schedule a performance.
